Returns & Refunds
At the People's History Museum Shop, every purchase helps support our charitable work. We want you to be happy with your order, and we'll always try to resolve any issues fairly and promptly.
We have a 28-day return policy, which means you have 28 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a refund:
- The item must be unused and in its original condition
- Any original packaging, labels and tags should be included
- You must contact us before returning the item with the receipt or proof of purchase
Customers are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted items unless the item is faulty, damaged, or sent in error.
How to Request a Return
To request a return or report a problem with an order, please contact us at:
Email: shop@phm.org.uk
Please include your order number and details of the item(s) concerned.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
Your Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including your rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods.
