Pride: The Unlikely Story of the True Heroes of the Miners' Strike
Pride: The Unlikely Story of the True Heroes of the Miners' Strike
During the height of the Miners' Strike in 1984, a group of lesbian and gay activists from London befriended a South Wales mining community and helped to raise money for them.
Released in 2014, Pride (the film) explored the story of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) and the support they gave to the miners in South Wales. Written by author Tim Tate with LGSM, this book is a perfect companion to the film, telling the inspiring story of solidarity between two different communities.
LGSM’s archive is held at People's History Museum (PHM), and was used for research in the Pride film.
